About the Host: 

Ray Bourcier - Stay-at-home father, husband, author, podcaster

A college and university environmental science graduate, Ray grew up in a toxic family and a toxic situation in Northern Ontario, Canada. As a result, he experienced the first of many PTSD events at age five, which would begin his nearly three-decade struggle with anxiety and depression.

Spending most of his life in survival mode without support, he eventually discovered and developed ways to overcome his struggles when nothing else worked. 

With a passion for helping others, he made it his mission to help transform the lives and impact the worlds of eleven million people so they too can give their best to themselves, their loved ones, and their career.

An ancient Chinese proverb that Ray loves states, "To know the road ahead, ask those coming back." Ray is on the road back to offer you the support you need every step on your journey so that you, too, will be on the same road back.  Ray believes that only those who've walked that road can truly understand the struggles that you go through.

Welcome to episode two from surviving to thriving. If you're a parent struggling with anxiety and depression, and feel like you're in a constant state of survival mode, then you're in the right place. I am Ray burski. And I am here to support you overcome your struggles. So you will get out of survival mode and start thriving. I'm honored and grateful to be here to join you along your journey from surviving to thriving isn't just another podcast. We're not about information. We're about transformation. In this episode, we're going to dive deep into the one method that I leveraged to help overcome my struggles when everything else had failed. And when you use this method, you are sure to get results. And before we begin, I would love to know if Episode One resonated with you at all. See, we talked in the previous episode about how the goal is not to cure. Instead, it's to overcome your struggles and take back control. And if you didn't catch episode one, I suggest making sure you download and listen to it before moving forward with this episode. Your goal should be to get to a point where you can take back control and no longer let anxiety and depression run your life. And for most of my life, I felt I had no choice and no ability to prevent the struggles from taking my power and making choices for me. I felt completely powerless to them. Maybe that resonates with you. But I want you to know that those beliefs are the lie that those struggles make you feel from someone who was there and understands what you may be going through. Take it from me that you can take back control and learn to get to a point where you have many more good days than bad. You see, we live in a world of duality. Everything has an opposite. You can't eliminate the bad days. It's impossible. Without the bad. You can't know the good. We all have bad days. But you can't become a good captain. If you only sail in calm seas. How you take control is where overcoming your struggles occurs. But what if you feel that you have little hope? Because nothing else has ever worked for you before. If you're someone who struggles to feel hope, or feel that maybe you've never known hope, I want you to listen closely right now. Because I'm especially talking to you. That was me. You're not alone. I understand you. From five years old. I never knew any other way. I never had hope. And before we move forward, I have a question that I want to ask you. Have you ever felt like if you just had that one person in your life, or that one group of people to support you who understand you that you'd be able to overcome your struggles? If you haven't, that's okay. But if you have know that you are scientifically correct. Studies from Brown University have shown that you're 95% more likely to achieve your goals with the right support.

Ray Bourcier:

That's the goal of our Empower up tribe to give you the support that you may have never had, but have always needed. I go live in our tribe one to two times a week, including a q&a and support session when there's enough demand with some thing like that interests you. Because if it does, I'll provide you with the link at the end of the show. And in the show notes, so that you too can come be a part of our tribe. But for now, I want to circle back. Support is one of the three keys to transforming your life. It's one of the three keys to transformation. And this brings us back to the topic of today's episode, the one method see, you can have all the support in the world, but you will still end up in that 5%. If you don't take unwavering action, you have to take unwavering action, because in consistent action leads to inconsistent results. You might be asking, why is this the one method that can get you results when everything else has failed? For the longest time, I believed that everything started with a belief. But a belief is just the seeds from which you grow your roots. And your roots, determine your fruits. How your belief grows, determines the quality of your harvest. You're going to notice in episodes, that I like to use my environmental science background, because a lot of what happens out there in nature happens within us. So they're more connected than many people realize. And through my journey, I learned that there is something even more powerful than belief. There's something more important for you than belief. Because without this, the seeds you plant as belief will grow like weeds and impact your life. Because they already have. Look around you know that this is true. Because everything you need, starts with hope. But what do you do when you lack hope? I lacked hope for decades of my life. I never knew what hope was until I discovered the key. And that's what I want to share with you right now. Because hope isn't something that you find. Hope isn't something that finds you. The key is that hope is something that you build. It's in your control to build, and you build it with the one method. And here's how it starts by taking unwavering action. Because taking unwavering action leads to traction, traction leads to momentum. And momentum leads to hope. And once you have hope you start to believe beliefs are the seeds of potential Hope is the difference between feeding the seeds, water, or vinegar and expecting them to grow into a harvestable crop. This is the process that will work for you. Even if you don't yet believe it. And that's okay if you don't, because you have to believe it before you will see it. And that's why transformation is all about taking action. But what kind of actions

from surviving to thriving is all about taking the right actions to help you build hope and belief so that you will see results in overcoming your struggles. And we're going to be going deeper with the actions in every episode. For now, here's what's important for you to know. Taking unwavering action only has to be small steps. To use a baseball analogy. You don't have to swing for the fences and hit homeruns small steps are all it takes. Because small steps not only reduce anxiety, but think about the results for a moment. 1% better every day is 365% better in one year. So I want you to take a moment right now and bring your future self to you right now. What does your future self one year from now? Who Is 365% Better look like to you? How do they feel? What does their life look like? What do their relationships with themselves look like? What about the relationships with their loved ones? How about their careers and their goals? What does that look like? All of this is possible. And together, you will get there one step at a time. Imperfect Action leads to traction.
